Reason for Rajindernagar accident in 6 points
- On the night of July 27, due to a power cut in the building, the biometric gate of the basement library got jammed. The students were trapped inside the library in the dark.
- Water did not enter the basement initially as the gate was closed, but after a few minutes the water pressure increased and the gate broke.
- An eyewitness said that after the gate broke, water started filling up the basement rapidly. The flow was so fast that it was difficult to climb the stairs.
- In a few seconds, water filled up to the knees. In such a situation, the students stood on the benches. In just 2-3 minutes, the entire basement was filled with 10-12 feet of water.
- Ropes were thrown to save the student, but the water was dirty, so the ropes were not visible. Benches were also floating in the water. Therefore, there were difficulties in the rescue.
- The bodies of 3 students were found late at night. 14 were pulled out with the help of ropes. When the rescue was in its final stage, there was still 7 feet of water inside.

The basement where the coaching centre’s library was located was getting flooded rapidly. It was difficult to go inside.
