The murder mystery has become more complicated after the dead body of a youth found in the bushes near Bastada in Karnal was identified. Preliminary investigation has revealed that Manav, originally a resident of Hoshiarpur, was to board a flight from Delhi to Thailand on the night of 15 May. 4 hours before flight

He kept talking to the family till late night of 15th May, but then suddenly the phone got switched off. The body was found in Karnal the next day. Now the police is connecting the links of the entire incident from Delhi to Karnal. His wife and twin sons had gone to Malaysia by flight on the morning of 15 May. The family is doubting the agent. Manav’s iPhone is missing, whose last location was found in Madhya Pradesh.

On May 16, Manav’s body was found in Karnal.

The young man was taken away from Delhi hotel but did not return.

Manju (33), mother of Manav (33) of Sandra village of Hoshiarpur, told that the entire family had reached Delhi on May 14. Manav’s wife Reshmi and twin sons left for Malaysia on the morning of 15 May. Manav was staying in the hotel with his mother. He had a flight to Thailand on May 15 at around 11:30 pm.

According to Manju, two youths reached the hotel 3-4 hours before the flight i.e. around 8:30. One of them was a young Sardar. Both of them said that the agent has sent them and they have to get some documents signed. They took Manav with them and asked to drop him back in 10-15 minutes, but he did not return.

According to family members, Manav’s phone was on till around 1:40 am on May 15 and he had also talked to his mother. After this the mobile got switched off. The family started searching at their level, but no clue was found. The body was found in the bushes in Karnal at 7:30 am on 16 May. However, he was identified on May 18. After which the family was informed.

‘Goldie’, ‘Lucky’ and ‘Aadi’ were written in English on the sleeve. A bracelet was worn on his hand. On the basis of these identification marks, the police had sent the photo of the dead body to different police stations and other states. Which helped in identification.

Phone and purse not found with dead body, fear of robbery also

Manju says that only three thousand rupees in cash were found in Manav’s pocket. He had a Malaysian driving license, ATM card and other important documents. He also had an iPhone, but none of these items were recovered after the body was found. In such a situation, there is also a possibility of robbery.

The marriage took place in Malaysia, Manav was the father of twins.

Manav’s wife Reshmi is originally from Malaysia. Manav had gone to Malaysia about 10 years ago and married Reshmi a year later. After marriage they had twin sons. Whose age is about six and a half years. Husband and wife used to drive in Malaysia. Manav used to drive a truck. Manav came to Hoshiarpur with his family in January. Now he had to return.

These questions are still under police investigation

Why different flight routes?

The tickets of Manav’s Malaysian-born wife and children were direct to Malaysia, while Manav’s ticket was via Thailand. Police are investigating whether Manav had any work in Thailand? Was there no other reason behind the plan to go to Thailand? Is there any agent’s role in this whole matter?

Search for agents and suspicious youths

The investigating officer of the case, Lachhman, said that after the postmortem, the body was handed over to the family members on the evening of May 19. Since the youth was taken from Delhi, further investigation will be done by Delhi Police. The police are now scanning the CCTV cameras installed around the hotel, so that the two suspicious youths can be identified. Also, efforts are being made to reach the agent who had got Manav’s visa. It is also a matter of investigation whether it was really the agent who had sent the youth or whether there was some other conspiracy.

Many questions have arisen after Manav’s death. Did he know the two young men who took him from the hotel? If they were sent by the agent then why did he not confirm with the agent? Is this a case of some kind of rivalry or a transaction dispute? According to family members, he had no enmity with anyone. In such a situation, the police is now investigating from every angle. Reshmi told that on the morning of 15th May, Manav dropped her (wife and sons) at the airport. After that returned to the hotel. According to Reshmi, she had talked to Manav on phone till 11:50 pm on May 15. After this his phone got switched off. Later the mother-in-law came to know that Manav was missing. Hearing this, she returned to India with her children on the night of 18 May. Mother Manju told that the last location of Manav’s missing iPhone was found on May 18 in Madhya Pradesh.
