Cyclonic storm ‘Arnab’ may make landfall near Visakhapatnam early Wednesday. The cyclone is moving towards Andhra Pradesh at high speed. It is expected to hit the coast between 2 am and 4 am on October 28. At the time of landfall, sustained wind speed is expected to be 125-135kmph with occasional gusts reaching 150kmph. In view of this, Andhra Pradesh and Odisha have built about 4,000 cyclone shelters. Thousands of people have been evacuated to safe places. Also, Railways has canceled 50 trains. Apart from this, 21 flights have been canceled at Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam airports. It has been raining heavily in Odisha since Tuesday. Due to this, schools have been closed in 16 districts of the state. More than 30,000 people have been evacuated to safe places. The impact of the storm will extend from Northeast to South India. That means it will rain till Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Bihar and UP. There is yellow alert in Jharkhand, Vidarbha and Telangana. There is also a yellow alert for rain in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Bihar, Bengal, East Madhya Pradesh, Rayalaseema, Karnataka, Marathwada, Maharashtra, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi.
