Bollywood’s Khiladi Akshay Kumar is known for performing dangerous stunts himself in his films. In a recent conversation, he recalled three incidents when he came close to death during shooting. Akshay said that thrice he got trapped in such situations where he could have lost his life. In Subhankar Mishra’s podcast, Akshay told that the first incident happened during the film ‘Sainik’. He said, “Once it happened in ‘Sainik’. In that, my hand got tired while going from one building to another, and I thought that I will go from one building to another. There was nothing then, not even VFX, I had to do everything myself.” The situation became dangerous during this stunt, but he survived. He narrated the second dangerous experience during the film ‘International Khiladi’. Akshay said, “Once in ‘International Khiladi’, half of my body would have been cut off in the boat scene. What happened was that a catamaran was coming from the front, and my boat was about to go through the middle of it. And I am telling you, this half of my body would have been completely cut off. I would have been completely cut off. But he survived.” He described this incident as one of the scariest moments of his career. The third incident happened during the shooting of the film ‘Khiladi 786’. Akshay told, “Then there was another one, when I jumped in ‘Khiladi 786’ and I had to dive in a hot air balloon. Then I was saved.” The situation in this stunt was also risky, but he came out safely. Akshay Kumar said that such accidents taught that doing stunts is exciting, but even a moment’s mistake can be fatal. Despite this, he still prefers to do most of the stunts himself. His recent release film ‘Bhoot Bangla’ is in discussion. The film has been released but failed to impress the audience at the box office and had a weak performance with negative reviews.
