The Afghan Taliban cited stopping obscenity as the reason behind its decision.

Since the coming of the Taliban government in Afghanistan, many types of restrictions are being continuously imposed on women. On Saturday also, the Taliban issued an order banning the construction of windows in domestic buildings at places from where women are likely to be visible. He cited the reason behind this to stop obscene acts.

Taliban government spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid said in a statement issued on Saturday-

According to a Taliban spokesperson, seeing women in the kitchen, in the courtyard or fetching water from wells can give rise to obscenity.

Municipal corporation officials in Afghanistan have been ordered to keep an eye on new buildings being constructed. With this, it will be decided that such windows cannot be made in these buildings through which one can peep into the neighboring house.

The order states that if such windows already exist, homeowners will be asked to build a brick wall in front of them.

Tughlaqi continues issuing orders against women

Since returning to rule Afghanistan, Taliban has been continuously issuing Tughlaqi decrees against women. Earlier this month, the Taliban had banned nursing training for women in Afghanistan. The reason behind this was also not explained.

In August this year, Afghan women were banned from speaking in public and showing their faces. Along with this, it was said that women should come out of the house only when it is absolutely necessary. Apart from this, Taliban has also banned women from participating in sports.

What is Sharia law of Afghanistan? After capturing Afghanistan, Taliban had said that Sharia law would be implemented in the country. Actually, Sharia is like a legal system for people who believe in Islam. It is used in many Islamic countries. However, it is not fully implemented in most Islamic countries including Pakistan. It contains laws on many big issues ranging from everyday life.

Sharia includes laws related to family, finance and business. Drinking alcohol, using drugs or trafficking is one of the major crimes under Sharia law. This is the reason why there are strict punishment rules for these crimes.

The Taliban government claims that Islamic law guarantees the rights of Afghan men and women.
