Vijay Verma, who has always won the hearts of the public with his acting, has become the lead hero of a romantic drama film for the first time. Produced by popular fashion designer Manish Malhotra, this film has been directed by Vibhu Puri. Fatima Sana Shaikh has played the role of Vijay’s love interest in ‘Gustakh Ishq’. Along with these two, Naseeruddin Shah is also in the film. It was visible from the trailer that ‘Gustakh Ishq’ is an old school love story, in which poetry plays a big role. Many people also found the film interesting. But the pride of ‘Gustakh Ishq’ has become very arrogant in theatres. This film is not getting any audience.
Big ‘Gustak Ishq’, cold from the very first day
The biggest problem with Vijay and Fatima’s film was that it got stuck in clash. Along with ‘Gustakh Ishq’, Dhanush and Kriti Sanon’s ‘Tere Ishq Mein’ was also released on Friday. The flavor of Dhanush’s film is more dynamic and spicy. Whereas in comparison ‘Gustakh Ishq’ is a cute and simple emotion film.
‘Gustakh Ishq’ received good reviews from critics and the work of the three actors was also highly appreciated. But the public is liking ‘Tere Ishq Mein’ more than this film. The effect was that the box office collection of ‘Gustak Ishq’ could not even cross the mark of Rs 1 crore on the first day. The film could earn only Rs 50 lakh on the first day.
The figure of 1 crore was not crossed even in two days
If the praise for the film is strong, then despite the sluggishness on the first day, it starts getting audiences from the second day. But even this blessing did not happen on ‘Gustak Ishq’. Saturday’s trade reports show that far from improving the earnings on the second day, on the contrary the earnings decreased. Estimates suggest that the film has collected only around Rs 45 lakh on Saturday. Even after including the earnings of two days, the film could not cross the Rs 1 crore mark.
2025 has been a good year for love stories so far. From ‘Sayara’ to ‘Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat’ and now ‘Tere Ishq Mein’ has also proved to be strong at the box office. People are liking not only love stories but also new couples. Perhaps in terms of marketing and promotion, ‘Gustak Ishq’ could not create the palace that its competitor ‘Tere Ishq Mein’ did. The film got praise but now it seems that it will probably get the audience only when it comes on OTT.
