Tamil Nadu Police sent 844 people to judicial custody under various legal sections.

Tamil Nadu Police detained 3246 criminals and arrested 419 drug smugglers. This action was taken during the special operation conducted in the last three days.

During the campaign, the police investigated 15,349 people. These included 12,650 history-sheeters and 2,699 non-history-sheeters. Of these, 844 people were sent to judicial custody under various legal sections.

Within 48 hours of taking oath as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Vijay had taken four major decisions. These included the decision to form about 65 Anti-Drug Task Forces (ANTF) in every district of Tamil Nadu.

Through this task force, action was taken against drug trafficking, sale and use.

Police seized ganja and intoxicating pills, worth Rs 1.43 crore

Acting against drugs under the NDPS Act, the police registered 294 cases and arrested 419 drug smugglers across the state.

The officers also seized 267.756 kg of ganja and 2476 intoxicating pills. Their estimated price has been said to be Rs 1 crore 43 lakh.

Tamil Nadu Director General of Police (DGP) office said in the statement – ​​This operation was conducted on the instructions of the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. The police is working to maintain peace and safety of people in the state.
