An encounter took place between security forces and terrorists in Doda, Jammu and Kashmir on Monday night. The White Knight Corps informed in Xpost that based on intelligence information, the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police have launched a joint operation in the northern area of Doda.
According to the post, security forces encountered terrorists at around 9 pm. Heavy firing took place during this time. According to initial reports, some soldiers have been injured. Additional forces have been sent to that area to continue the operation. The operation is ongoing.
This is the fifth encounter in 32 days in Doda of Jammu division. Earlier on July 8, terrorists had attacked an army vehicle in Kathua district, in which 5 soldiers including a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) were martyred while 5 soldiers were injured. Before that, one attack took place on June 26 and two attacks took place on June 12.

What happened: Terrorists opened fire on a joint checkpost of 4 Rashtriya Rifles and police on Bhaderwah-Pathankot road in Doda. 5 jawans and a Special Police Officer (SPO) were injured. Terrorist organization Kashmir Tigers (JEM/Jaish) claimed responsibility for the attack.
Doda police had released sketches of 4 terrorists hiding in Bhaderwah, Thathri, Gandoh. A reward of Rs 5 lakh was announced for those giving information about each terrorist.

What happened: An encounter took place between terrorists and security forces at Kota Top in Gandoh, Doda. Constable Farid Ahmed of Special Operation Group (SOG) was injured in this. What happened: 3 terrorists killed
On June 26, security forces killed three terrorists in Gandoh area of Doda district. After receiving information about 2-3 terrorists hiding in the area in the morning, the police and army launched a search operation, after which the encounter started at 9.50 am. A soldier of the Special Operations Group posted in Jammu and Kashmir Police was also injured in this encounter.

What happened: 5 soldiers martyred, 5 injured
The security forces went out in two trucks for patrolling in the hilly area at Badnota in Machedi area of Lohai Malhar block, about 123 km from Kathua, at 3.30 pm. The road was unpaved and the speed of the vehicle was also slow. There was a high hill on one side and a ditch on the other.
The terrorists ambushed the army truck on the hill and first threw a grenade, then fired from a sniper gun. The army also fired in counter fire, but the terrorists fled into the forest. It has been revealed that 3 to 4 terrorists were involved in the attack. These terrorists equipped with advanced weapons have recently infiltrated from across the border. On Sunday 14 June, 3 terrorists were killed in Kupwara
Security forces killed 3 terrorists near Kupwara in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday. All three were trying to infiltrate from the Line of Control (LoC). Pistols and ammunition were recovered from them. The identities of the three have not been disclosed. Investigation is underway in the case. The encounter is still going on.
Earlier on June 22, security forces killed two terrorists trying to infiltrate in Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir. The incident took place in Gohlan area.
