Denmark’s Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen (48) has resigned after defeat in the general elections. In the counting of votes on Wednesday, his Social Democratic Party got only 38 seats. However, no party has got majority there yet. Mette was the Prime Minister of Denmark since June 2019 and returned to power in 2022. She became the youngest Prime Minister of the country to assume office at the age of 41. He believed that it was wrong to achieve beauty by causing pain to animals. During this period, he symbolically adopted a whale named ‘Jens’ and helped in its protection, tracking and saving the natural habitat by donating money from his pocket money to the Marine Conservation Society. In 2012, when she was the Employment Minister, Mete used to drop children to school on bicycle in simple clothes and flat shoes. At that time there was a lot of discussion among the public about his simplicity. Mete is famous for his frank answers. In January 2026, Trump insisted on occupying Greenland. Instead of relenting in response, Mette deployed Danish commandos and soldiers to protect Greenland. He said bluntly, ‘Denmark is not for sale. If America attacks a NATO ally, everything will be over. Trump’s threat boosted Ulta Mete’s popularity.
