US President Donald Trump described India-US relations as special. During the press briefing at the White House on Friday, he said- I will always be a friend of Modi.

On the question of resetting relations with India, Trump said- I am always ready to reset relations with India.

Earlier on Friday, Trump had said on social media trousers that Russia and India have now gone to China. He wrote- ‘It seems that we have lost India and Russia at the hands of China. Hopefully their future will be good.

At the same time, Trump described the ongoing trade conversation with India and other countries, but expressed displeasure over the European Union (EU) being fined $ 3.5 billion on Google.

Apart from this, Trump made it clear in the press conversation that he is disappointed due to India buying Russian oil. He said- We have imposed a huge tariff of 50% on India for this.

Former American NSA said- Trump-Modi’s friendship ends

Prior to Trump’s remarks, former US National Security Advisor John Bolton said on 4 September that the earlier friendship between Trump and PM Narendra Modi is now over.

In an interview to the British media LBC, Bolton criticized Trump’s policy, saying, “The White House pushed the US-India relations back decades, causing Modi to come close to Russia and China. China has introduced itself as an alternative to the US and Trump.

Bolton described it as a big mistake. He said- it cannot be corrected now, because the situation is very bad.

Ukraine imposed tariff on India to end war

The relations between India and the US have deteriorated since the imposition of 50% tariff on India. Hearing of high tariffs on other countries including India is going on in the US court.

On 4 September, Trump said that it was necessary to impose tariffs on India in court. He had said that if this does not happen, America will suffer a lot of financial loss.

Trump earlier challenged the decision of the lower court, stating that Trump could not impose heavy tariffs on foreign goods.

Trump had said that tariffs imposed on India are very important to stop the Russia-Ukraine war. He argued in the Supreme Court that a tariff was imposed on India to buy Russian oil, so that it would help to end the war.

Trump said that the decision of the lower court could make their business talks in trouble in the last 5 months. This may threaten agreements with countries like European Union, Japan and South Korea.

Trump said- India is killing America by putting tariffs

Trump had said on Wednesday (3 September) that India is killing us (America) by putting tariffs. Talking at The Scott Jenning Radio Show, he said that countries like India, China and Brazil are killing America with their high tariffs.

Trump said- I consider Tariff the best in the world. India was the highest tariff in the world, but now they offered me zero tariffs.

He also said that if America had not imposed tariffs on India, then India would never offer such an offer. Trump described tariffs as necessary for America’s economic strength and said that without tariff he does not offer this offer. This will strengthen us financially.

India will have to accept America’s conditions to remove tariffs

At the same time, US Industries Minister Howard Lutnik on Friday spoke to Bloomberg TV and laid three conditions to remove 25% extra tariffs on India. He said that India will have to stop buying oil from Russia, separate from BRICS and support America.

He said that if you (India) want to become a bridge between Russia and China, then be made, but either support dollars or America. Support your biggest customer or repay 50% tariffs.
