If Taiwan is attacked, he (Xi Jinping) knows what the answer will be. He did not discuss this in our meeting because he knows the consequences.

Trump further said that he will not reveal his secret plan, but China knows everything about what will happen.

Trump has claimed that Chinese President Xi Jinping has assured him that as long as Trump is president, China will not take any military action to take control of Taiwan.

Trump claims that during his first term, China never dared to attack Taiwan because it feared America's strong reaction.

Defense ministers of America and China talked on Taiwan issue

US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth talks with Chinese Defense Minister Admiral Dong Jun in Malaysia on October 31. He expressed concern over China’s increasing military activities in Taiwan and the South China Sea.

He said that America will maintain the balance of power in the Indo-Pacific region and protect its interests. Hegseth said that America does not want conflict, but will keep its military presence strong.

In response, China’s Defense Minister Dong Jun said that the US should proceed with caution regarding Taiwan and avoid supporting Taiwan independence.

Russia is training China to attack Taiwan

British defense think tank Royal United Services (RUSI) has claimed that Russia is providing tanks, weapons and technology to Chinese paratroopers for ‘airborne attacks’ on Taiwan.

RUSI has revealed this by quoting 800 pages of leaked document. According to these documents, Chinese President Xi Jinping has ordered his army PLA to be ready to attack Taiwan by 2027.

According to the report, there was an agreement between Russia and China regarding this in 2023. Under this, PLA paratroopers will be trained in Russia through simulators and training equipment.

After this, there will be simultaneous training in China, in which the Russian Army will give them training in landing, fire control and movement.

China considers Taiwan as its part

China considers Taiwan as its own part, while Taiwan considers itself an independent country. This dispute between China and Taiwan has been going on for 73 years.

In fact, the first connection between Taiwan and China was in 1683. Taiwan then came under the control of the Qing dynasty. Taiwan’s role in international politics came to the fore during the First Sino-Japanese War in 1894–95.

Japan defeated the Qing dynasty and colonized Taiwan. After this defeat, China disintegrated into many parts. A few years later, China’s great leader Sun-Yat-Tsen formed the Kuo Mingtang Party in 1912 with the aim of unifying China.

However, he died in 1925 before his Republic of China campaign could be fully successful.

After this, Kuo Mingtang’s party broke into two pieces. Nationalist Party and Communist Party. The Nationalist Party was in favor of giving maximum rights to the people, while the Communist Party believed in dictatorship.

Due to this issue, civil war started within China. In 1927, there was a massacre between the two parties. Thousands of people were killed in the city of Shanghai. This civil war lasted from 1927 to 1950.

Japan took advantage of this and captured China’s big city Manjuria. Then both the parties together fought Japan and succeeded in liberating Manjuria from Japan in the Second World War (1945). A few days later, Japan also gave up its claim on Taiwan.

After this, fights started again between both the parties. People’s Republic of China and Republic of China i.e. China and Taiwan. China was ruled by the Communist Party i.e. Mao Zedong, while Taiwan was ruled by the Nationalist Kuomintang i.e. Chiang Kai-shek. There was a war between the two for the control of the whole of China. With Russia’s help the Communists won and annexed Shek to Taiwan. That is, limited to Taiwan.

Actually, Taiwan island is two thousand km away from Beijing. Mao still kept his eyes on Taiwan and remained adamant on merging it with China. There were conflicts from time to time, but China could not succeed because America stood behind Taiwan. America declared Taiwan neutral during the Korean War.
