Trump has once again expressed his displeasure over not receiving the Nobel Peace Prize. He said on Friday that by not giving him this award, Norway has put a stain on itself which will never be erased.
Trump described this decision as shameful and insulting and said that he should have received the award eight times for stopping every war.
This year the Nobel Peace Prize has been awarded to South Africa’s former UN human rights chief Navi Pillay. Trump said that no one knows him.

The Nobel Prize was awarded today to a liberal who works at the United Nations and whom no one has heard of.
Pillay served as President of the International Criminal Court (ICC) from 1999 to 2003.
‘Stopped India-Pakistan war, saved lives of 5 crore people’
Trump once again claimed that he had stopped the war between India and Pakistan. He said that by stopping the two countries possessing nuclear weapons from war, he saved the lives of 5 crore people.
Trump said he is also working towards ending the Iran and Russia-Ukraine wars. According to him, America should have received the Nobel Peace Prize, but it did not happen. America will never forget Norway for this.
Trump also claimed that he prevented Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. If this had not happened, devastation could have spread to the entire Middle East, Europe and America.
He said, ‘I have saved more lives than any other person in history.’
Trump has been asking for Nobel Prize since 2018
- Asking for Nobel Prize is nothing new for Trump. At an event in October 2018, Trump, referring to the Nobel Peace Prize, said that he would probably never receive the award, even though he was trying to establish peace in Korea and Syria.
- After this, in February 2019, he openly put forth his claim. He said that Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has nominated him for Nobel, but I don’t think that I will ever be able to win it.
- In 2019, in response to a question by a Pakistani journalist, Trump said that he thought he would get a Nobel for many things, if the award was given in a fair manner.
- Trump also raised the Nobel issue during the 2020 presidential election. Comparing himself with former President Barack Obama, he had said that if Obama can get this award then he should also get it.
Navi Pillai said- Maybe I should share my award with Trump
The Nobel Committee of Norway announced to award the Peace Prize for 2026 to Indian-origin Navaneetam Navi Pillay.
After receiving the award, he humorously took a jibe at Trump. When his teammates applauded, Pillai joked, “If you clap a little more, maybe I’ll share this award with Trump.”
Trump was earlier given his Nobel Prize by Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado. Machado was given this 2025 award for his work for democratic rights. He later met Trump at the White House and presented him with his Nobel Medal.
However, this did not give Trump the Nobel Prize. The prize remained with Machado. According to the Nobel Committee, the prize cannot be transferred, shared or returned to another person.

Barack Obama received this award in 2009. He was in the first year of his presidency. Trump has been particularly angry with the award received by Obama.
Trump had said that even he himself did not know the reason for Obama receiving this award. Trump said,
Obama got it in just 8 months even though he did nothing. Even Obama still doesn’t know why he got it.
Norway’s Nobel Committee chose Obama for his efforts to increase dialogue with other countries and free the world from nuclear weapons.
However, the decision to give the award to Obama in such a short time had become a matter of discussion and controversy even at that time.
