Time magazine on Thursday chose America’s newly elected President Donald Trump as the Person of the Year for 2024. This is the second time after 2016 that Trump has been chosen Person of the Year. Anyone can be chosen as Time Person of the Year, it is not necessary that he has done good work.
After becoming Person of the Year, Trump will now ring the opening bell of the trading day of the New York Stock Exchange. This is considered a great honor for any person. The race for this year’s award was between Trump, Kamala Harris, Elon Musk, Benjamin Netanyahu and Princess of Wales Kate Middleton.
Last year, pop star Taylor Swift was chosen Person of the Year.

Trump has criticized Time Magazine many times
Donald Trump and Time Magazine have had a tumultuous relationship. Trump has criticized it many times. In 2012, he said that Time magazine had lost all credibility by not including him among the 100 most powerful people.
In 2015, when the then German Chancellor Angela Merkel became the Person of the Year, Trump wrote on Twitter (now They have elected a person who is ruining Germany.
On becoming Person of the Year in 2016, Trump called it a great honor. The next year, Trump said that if he had agreed to the interview and photoshoot, he would have been given this title in 2017 also. However, Time magazine rejected this claim.
