A painful road accident took place late Sunday evening on Bharatmala Expressway in Matora police station area of Phalodi district of Rajasthan. 18 people, residents of Sursagar, Jodhpur, were returning in a tempo traveler after visiting Kolayat Temple in Bikaner. A speeding tempo traveler suddenly rammed into a parked truck near Hanuman Sagar intersection. 15 people died on the spot in the accident.
Phalodi Superintendent of Police Kundan Kanwaria confirmed the deaths in the accident. He said, ’15 people died on the spot in the accident. 3 injured were immediately sent to Osian Hospital, from where they were admitted through a green corridor. Jodhpur Referred. Phalodi DSP Achalsingh Deora said that the collision was so severe that the tempo traveler was completely shattered.
Trampo Traveler tested
Many bodies got stuck badly in the seats and iron of the Tempo Traveller, which the police and the local people had to struggle a lot to free them. Phalodi police station officer Amanaram said, ‘All the deceased and injured were residents of Sursagar area of Jodhpur. These people were returning after visiting Kolayat along with their families. Police, SDRF and relief teams conducted rescue operations on the spot.
As soon as information about the accident was received, Jodhpur Police Commissioner Omprakash Mathur reached the spot and took stock of the situation. Due to the high speed of the tempo traveler on the Bharatmala Expressway and low visibility, the driver not being able to see the truck parked on the side of the road is considered to be the main reason for the accident. The police is investigating the matter.
