The team of Madhya Pradesh Women’s Commission met retired judge and mother-in-law Giribala Singh, lodged in the Twisha Sharma death case, in Bhopal Central Jail. Giribala Singh was reading Devdutt Patnaik’s book ‘The Pregnant King’ in jail. He closed the book as soon as he saw the team. Women Commission Chairperson Rekha Yadav took information from them about food, health facilities and other arrangements. Giribala Singh did not make any complaint and said that he had no problem, everything was fine. Rekha Yadav told- Giribala Singh remained calm. During the inspection, the Commission did not find any indication that they were being given any special facilities in the jail. The Commission team inspected the women’s ward, hospital, kitchen, library, art and craft center and beauty parlor. The story of Raja Yuvnashwa in ‘The Pregnant King’ The book which Giribala Singh was reading is Devdutt Patnaik’s book ‘The Pregnant King’. This mythological story is believed to be inspired by King Yuvnashwa. According to the belief, after the yagya performed in the desire of having a child, King Yuvanashva unknowingly drank a drink containing mantra, after which he became pregnant and when the time came, son Mandhata was born from his body. CBI is collecting medical and digital evidence. CBI, which is investigating Twisha Sharma death case, has received the second postmortem report. The agency is now matching medical, digital and forensic evidence. The investigation is focusing on facts related to pregnancy, abortion, injury marks found on the body and hanging noose. On behalf of Giribala Singh, Reena Verma and Shreyas Saxena of Legal Aid Defense Council have presented the Vakalatnama in the District Court. Both the advocates are associated with the Legal Services Authority, hence the court has sought permission from the State Legal Services Authority. CBI is also examining chats, call records, photos, videos and deleted data recovered from mobiles and laptops, so that the entire link of the case can be connected. SI Dinesh Sharma, who conducted preliminary investigation of the case and seized the rope, will be interrogated again. Photographs from the scene showed two belts hanging on two different rings in the room, but police seized only one belt on May 13. SI confiscated the rope and kept it in the car. Advocate Ankur Pandey said – SI Dinesh Sharma of Katara Hills police station reached Twisha’s house on 13 May 2026 at around 9:42 am. He seized the rope in front of Giribala and Samarth, but did not make anyone a witness in the seizure sheet. That is why there was no mention of someone identifying the rope in the document. He kept the rope in his car, whereas it was to be given to the doctors of AIIMS immediately. Dinesh Sharma had also reached AIIMS on May 13 to get PM. Twisha’s family created a ruckus over this on 14 May. After this, SI gave this rope to the doctors on 15th May. Lawyers say, it is legally necessary to produce witnesses while collecting such evidence. The police were initially supposed to identify Giribala and her husband Samarth as suspects, but did not do so. Despite such a huge mistake, no action was taken against those responsible. Let us tell you, on May 27, the High Court had canceled the anticipatory bail of Giribala Singh. After their arrest on June 1, the CBI team reached the house of Giribala and Samarth Singh. The name of the person who identified the rope is not recorded. The lawyer claims that the role of SI Dinesh Sharma, who conducted the initial investigation, is suspicious. In the application given for anticipatory bail, there was mention of mistakes in the documents related to the seizure. Bail was sought on this basis. This indicates that important information related to the case diary was reaching Giribala Singh. Ankur told that Twisha’s family members were questioning the intentions of the police from the beginning. He alleged that the police were deliberately making serious errors, which could weaken the case. After testing at AIIMS, the rope was sent for FSL testing on 16 May. At present the CBI is only investigating Twisha’s death. On May 29, retired judges Giribala Singh and Samarth Singh were produced in the special court of Bhopal. Samarth and Giribala were not accused at that time, so legally they did not have the right to access that document. Only the police have this right. Despite this, questions have been raised on filing this document along with the reply to the anticipatory bail petition. The lawyer of Twisha’s family alleges that the documents related to the investigation were already reaching the accused. However, no official response has come from the investigating agencies in this regard. Other seizure documents prepared on the same day: In the reply presented by Giribala in the High Court, it is also mentioned that three other documents related to the action were also prepared on the same day (May 13). There is mention of the presence of Samarth and Giribala. There is no mention of this in the document of seizure of the rope. Based on this, lawyer Ankur Pandey has claimed that there is a difference in the investigation process. All the points raised in the case are said to be related to the reply submitted by Giribala during the anticipatory bail petition filed in the High Court on May 27. Now the investigating agencies are also reviewing the seizure of evidence, their security and the entire process. Investigating the authenticity of the documents presented by Giribala, some documents related to the treatment of Twisha were presented in the Bhopal court on behalf of the accused Giribala, claiming that Twisha was mentally disturbed and had psychiatric problems. After this he was granted anticipatory bail. The CBI team is investigating the genuineness of the medical document. Trying to find out whether Twisha was treated or not? If so, what was his mental state? Psychiatrist Dr. Satyakant Trivedi was interrogated in this connection. Was Twisha mentally ill or not? CBI is investigating: According to CBI sources, investigation is also going on whether Twisha was actually suffering from some mental illness or the documents related to her treatment were used for some other purpose. Dr. Satyakant Trivedi has confirmed the CBI inquiry. On Bhaskar’s question, Dr. Trivedi said that sharing the personal information of the patient is a violation of his rights. He cannot disclose personal matters that happened during Twisha’s counselling. 29 prisoners who were sentenced by Giribala were also accused of getting VIP treatment in the jail, Giribala and Samarth. After this, the jail management shifted both of them from the hospital ward to the barrack. After the court order, the jail administration is on alert regarding the security of Giribala. Additional guards have been deployed and CCTV cameras have also been increased. The reason for increasing security is said to be that 29 of the accused whom Giribala had sentenced when he was a judge, are lodged in this jail.
