Speaking to NDTV, Garima said, “We want to know what really happened in Singapore on September 19, 2025. I see them everywhere. The way people have come here, they are not looking at anyone’s caste, religion or ideology. They have come as human beings.” The Assam government had initiated the process to investigate the causes and circumstances of his death in Singapore. The case is proceeding in the court. The Assam government has said that the purpose of the investigation is to find out the circumstances and facts related to Zubeen’s death in Singapore. On the demand for justice, Garima said, “We all want justice for Zubeen Garg. We want to know what really happened in Singapore on September 19, 2025. We are still waiting for that answer. We must get justice. If there is no justice for Zubeen, then for whom?” Fans are celebrating Zubeen Day. Zubeen Garg’s fans are celebrating his first death anniversary as Zubeen Day. The three-day Jubeen Diwas, which started from September 17, is being celebrated with music, prayers and cultural programmes. A crowd of fans gathered at the memorial located in Kamarkuchi. The memorial was decorated with flowers and gamos. Arrangements were made for the people coming for the three-day programme. This program will end on Saturday i.e. today. Zubeen Garg had gone to Singapore to attend the celebration of 60 years of diplomatic relations between India and Singapore. He was to perform in the ‘North East India Festival’ there. Zubeen was partying with his friends on a yacht near Lazarus Island when he drowned. That big event was canceled as soon as the news of Singer’s death was received. After the death of Zubeen Garg, a complaint has been registered in Assam against his manager Siddharth Sharma and all the people present with him at the time of the incident and the event manager. After the complaint, the singer’s wife Garima released a crying video from the singer’s official social media account and appealed to withdraw the complaint lodged against the manager. After some time, Zubeen’s wife expressed suspicion of murder and demanded investigation. After the complaint, Zubeen’s friends present in the yacht and the event organizer were arrested. On the other hand, Gauhati High Court has created a special fast-track sessions court for daily hearing of the case of death of Assam singer Zubeen Garg. District Judge Sharmila Bhuiyan of Baksa district will preside over this fast-track court. The Chief Justice of Gauhati High Court has made this appointment. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of CID of Assam Police investigated the case and filed a charge sheet in the local court, in which seven people have been made accused. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had said in the Assembly on November 25 that Zubeen Garg’s death was not an accident but murder. They will ensure that the culprits are punished. Along with Assam Police, Singapore Police also investigated the case. Singapore Police denied any foul play in the death of singer Zubeen Garg in January. According to the report given to the court, Zubeen died due to drowning. He had refused to wear a life jacket while intoxicated. Singapore Police has prepared a report based on the testimony of 35 people. The witnesses gave minute-by-minute details of that day and told how much alcohol Zubeen Garg drank and went diving drunk. According to the report presented in the court, 52-year-old Zubeen Garg was drunk at the time of the incident. His toxicology report found his blood alcohol content to be 333 milligrams, more than four times Singapore’s legal limit (80 milligrams). The coroner said that due to so much intoxication he was not able to take the right decision. He initially wore a life jacket, but took it off after his first swim. The second time he entered the water, he flatly refused to wear a life jacket, despite being interrupted by the captain and other companions. The court rejected the wife’s allegations. Zubeen’s wife had expressed suspicion that the singer might have been pushed into the water. On this, Coroner Nakhoda made it clear that the police had investigated very closely. No evidence was found to suggest that anyone forced or pushed him. Even the people who tried to save him had given up their entire lives. The court said that Zubeen had entered the water to swim of his own free will and no one had deliberately pressed his face under water during drowning.
