A total of 18 lakh 95 thousand 552 vehicles were sold across the country in June 2024. There is an increase of 0.73% on an annual basis. 18 lakh 81 thousand 883 vehicles were sold in June last year. However, there has been a decline of 9.29% in sales on a monthly basis.
A month ago in May 2024, a total of 20 lakh 89 thousand 603 vehicles were sold. This information has come out in the retail automobile sales report of the Federation of Automobile Association (FADA). According to the report, Maruti Suzuki has sold the maximum number of 1 lakh 13 thousand 575 vehicles in June.
In the month of June last year, the company sold 1 lakh 22 thousand 801 vehicles. Hyundai Motor is at second place in this list. The company sold 38 thousand 46 vehicles in June. In June 2023, Hyundai sold 44 thousand 104 vehicles.
More than 18.95 lakh vehicles were sold in June-24

Hero sold the most number of two-wheelers at 3.97 lakh
In the two-wheeler category, Hero MotoCorp sold the most number of vehicles, 3,97,029, in June. The company’s share in total sales in June was 28.86%. A year ago in June 2023, the company sold 4,27,203 vehicles with 32.50% market share. At the second place, Honda sold 3,51,422 two-wheelers. Its market share in total sales was 25.54%. A year ago in June, the company sold 2,83,398 vehicles.

Maruti sold the most cars at 1.13 lakh
In June 2024, Maruti Suzuki India sold the most number of cars, 1,13,575. During this period, the company’s market share in the passenger vehicles category was 40.34%. A year ago in June 2023, the company sold 1,22,801 cars, then its market share was 40.66%. In this list, Hyundai Motor is at second place with 38,046 sales and Tata Motors is at third place with 37,242 sales.

2.38 crore vehicles were sold in 2023
In the calendar year 2023, around 2.38 crore vehicles were sold in different categories. On an annual basis, it witnessed a growth of 11.14%. A year ago i.e. in 2022, 2.15 crore vehicles were sold. In the total vehicle sales, the highest number of two-wheelers sold was 1.71 crore. It had an annual growth of 9.45%.
