जिंदल ग्रुप की कंपनी के CEO पर कोलकाता में FIR: कोलकाता-अबूधाबी फ्लाइट में महिला को पोर्न वीडियो दिखाने का आरोप

An FIR has been registered in Kolkata against Dinesh Kumar Saraogi, CEO of Jindal Group company Vulcan Green Steel, for allegedly molesting a female co-passenger on a flight from Kolkata to Abu Dhabi. The incident took place on July 16 last week.

The parents of the 28-year-old victim Ananya filed a complaint at the Airport Police Station in Kolkata on Saturday, based on which an FIR has been registered at the Bidhannagar City Police Station. This information was given by an officer of Bidhannagar Police.

The officer said that a case has been registered under sections 74 and 75 of the Indian Justice Code and investigation has been started. In the case, the female passenger had alleged on social media platform X that the officer had shown her porn videos by calling them movie clips. No FIR was registered in the case at the time of the incident.

Ananya was going to Boston, America. She had taken a connecting flight to Abu Dhabi. She says, ‘There were only 8 people in the business class of the flight. Dinesh Kumar Saraogi was also among them. I did not know him before. We were introduced while boarding the flight.’

‘We were having normal conversations. He asked me if I was going to Abu Dhabi, where I was from. These are very normal things that you talk about with your co-passenger. He also told me that he lives in Oman and travels to India regularly.’

‘We both are Agarwal-Marwaris from Rajasthan. We talked about that too. Looking at my profile, he wanted to help me in my work. He started telling me about his family. He has two sons. Both are settled in America. His elder son has two children.’

‘He was sitting next to me in the flight. He asked if I liked watching movies. I replied ‘yes’. He took out his mobile and said that there are some videos in it. He also gave me his earphones. He started showing me porn videos. He started leaning towards me. He touched my waist. I was shocked for a few seconds. I did not understand anything.’

‘I rushed to the toilet. I informed the crew about it. They too told me that they were watching for a long time and I was feeling uncomfortable, but they could not say anything. They knew that the man was showing something wrong. They could not say anything until I complained to the crew. The crew members helped me a lot. They made me sit where the air hostesses sit. They gave me coffee.’

‘That man did not stop following me even during the flight. He came to the air hostess to ask about me. He said that I had gone to the toilet for a long time and did not return. The crew members dealt with him strictly. They did not let him know where I was during the entire journey.

During landing, they swapped my seat with another passenger. The Etihad Airways team was very helpful. When we reached the airport, the police were already present there. As soon as the flight landed, two policemen came in. One came to me. The other spoke to that man.

‘I could not lodge a complaint against Saraogi because I had a connecting flight to Boston that day. The process of filing an FIR is underway in Kolkata.’

65-year-old Dinesh Kumar Saraogi is the CEO of Vulcan Green Steel in Oman. This company is a part of Jindal Steel. Saraogi was the executive director of the board of Jindal Shaded Iron and Steel till March 2023. He was the CEO of the steel company before leaving the post.
