The 80th anniversary of the US nuclear attack was celebrated on Saturday in Nagasaki, Japan. The survivors of the attack on the occasion said that their city became the last place in the world, where the atomic bomb had dropped.
On 9 August 1945, the US dropped a atomic bomb on Nagasaki. About 70000 people were killed in it. The name of this bomb was Fetman.
Three days before this, on August 6, the US dropped a atomic bomb on Hiroshima. The name of this bomb was Little Boy. 1.4 lakh people died in this.
After these attacks, Japan surrendered on 15 August 1945 and the World War II ended.
Tributes were paid to those killed in the attack

The program was organized at Peace Park on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the attack on Nagasaki. During this time school children were seen with flowers.

Standing in front of the Nagasaki peace statue, people prayed for the victims of the attack.

The 93 -year -old Hiroshi Nishioka, who survived the attack, arrived at the program to give a speech.
China denied attending the ceremony
The Nagasaki administration sent an invitation to all countries to attend the ceremony. However, China refused to come without giving any reason.
Representatives of 95 countries, Shigeru Ishiba and Nagasaki Mayor Shiro Suzuki were present at the ceremony held at Nagasaki Peace Park. A total of more than 3 thousand people attended this program.
Last year, the event came into controversy as Japan did not invite Israel. Due to which the US ambassador and representatives of many western countries did not attend.
99 thousand people survived by attacks still alive
99,130 people survived by these nuclear attacks are still alive. These are called Hibakusha. Their number has been reduced to just one quarter as compared to 1945 and the average age is more than 86 years.
Many of the survivors were so small during the attack that their memories are also blurred. Despite this, they are dreaming of ending nuclear weapons.

Why did America drop Bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki?
In 1945, by the end of World War II, Japan and America’s relations deteriorated. Especially when the Japanese army decided to target Indo-China with the intention of occupying East-Indies oil-rich areas. Therefore, US President Harry Truman carried out a nuclear attack on Japan for surrender.
Harry S Truman was the President of the US at that time. He warned, “Japan either surrender or be ready for immediate and completely destroy.
However, there are other principles about this. There was no need to force Japan to surrender by attacking nuclear attacks. A historian Gar Uparovitz has argued in one of his books in 1965 that the Japanese cities were attacked so that the war could achieve a strong position for diplomatic bargaining with the Soviet Union.
However, on 15 August 1945 immediately after the nuclear attack, Japan surrendered unconditionally.

In this picture taken in 1945, the situation is seen after the US was attacked by the US on Hiroshima.

After the nuclear attack on Nagasaki on 9 August 1945, all the buildings there were converted into a pile of debris. But only the building of the Medical College Hospital was able to stand. This ground was located just 800 meters from zero.
What happened on August 6 and 9?
On August 6 at 8:15 am, the US’s Inola Gay aircraft dropped the first atomic bomb on Hiroshima. At that time, the temperature had become more than 1 million degrees Celsius. Everything was burnt to ashes for about 10 kilometers. The wind speed became very fast. The explosion and thermal rays made the building into pieces.
The population of Hiroshima was about 3 lakh 50 thousand at that time. There were 43 thousand Japanese soldiers among them. When the uranium weapon, known as Little Boy, was dropped in Hiroshima, it exploded at a height of 1,850 feet. Its capacity was equivalent to 12.5 kiloton TNT.
The US Strategic Bombing Survey of 1946 reported that the bomb was exploded from the city center to the north-west. More than 80,000 people were killed and many were injured in this.
The next day was the headline of New York Daily News- ‘Bare Secret Vipan’ Atom ‘Bomb’ Bomb Japan Most Destructive Force in Universe ‘. New York Times gave the headline- ‘The first atomic bomb was dropped on Japan; The missile is equal to 20 thousand tons of TNT; Truman’s warning of waste rain ‘.
Three days later, on August 9 at 11 am (local time), the second Atomic Bomb was dropped on Nagasaki. Its population was about 2 lakh 70 thousand at that time. At the same time, when the ‘Fatman’ plutonium bomb was dropped on Nagasaki, there was an explosion equal to 22 Kilotan TNT. More than 40,000 people died in this attack.

What were the situation in the city?
Due to explosion and heat, the skin was hanging from the body of people. The leaves of trees had fallen. A sociologist told,
A park in the city was filled with bodies of people. There I saw a very frightening scene. Some young girls were lying there, whose clothes were not only torn, but their skin was also separated from the body.

I immediately thought in my mind that it is no less than hell, as I have often thought. Hiroshima was burning in the fire. A short time after the explosion, ‘black rain’ started. It contained radioactive elements.
Sociologist said, “Twenty -year -old Shibayama Hiroshi (who was out of the city at the time of the attack) reached Hiroshima after a few hours of the attack. While crossing the Kyobashi river, he saw a scene reminiscent of a painting of hell.
The bodies of many people were floating in the river. His face size was doubled from normal. Their legs were tight like wood. After the blast, there were dirty brown and black clouds in many colors throughout the city.
Both Hiroshima and Nagasaki were killed in the city on the day of the explosion, 50% of the people coming within a radius of 1.2 km. At the same time, 80–100% of people died after radiation and injuries. Within five months, 1 lakh 40 thousand people were killed in the population of 3 lakh 50 thousand of Hiroshima, while 70 thousand people died in the population of 2 lakh 70 thousand of Nagasaki.
