An earthquake of 7.1 magnitude occurred on Tuesday in Kumamoto, Kyushu, Japan’s southern island. After the earthquake, Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) has issued a tsunami advisory. According to the JMA, the epicenter of the earthquake was at a depth of 10 kilometers in the sea near the Kumamoto coast. After strong tremors, people in coastal areas have been advised to remain alert. At present there is no information about any major damage or loss of life.
