Earlier on July 29, Deputy Chairman Harivansh Narayan Singh had addressed her as Jaya Amitabh Bachchan. Even then Jaya had expressed her displeasure.

During the question hour, Chairman Dhankhar said- Supplementary No. 4, Mrs. Jaya Amitabh Bachchan… Then Jaya got up from her seat and said- Sir, you know what Amitabh means, right? I am proud of my marriage and my husband’s achievements.

The chairman interrupted him and said- Honorable members, there is a procedure for changing the name that appears in the election certificate and is submitted here. I myself took advantage of this procedure in 1989. We have explained the procedure for making that change to every member.

After this, the chairman narrated an anecdote and said- the whole country is proud of Amitabh Bachchan. Then he asked Jaya to ask her question to Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar.

Jaya stood up and pointing towards Khattar said- Put his wife’s name before his name, or after it… Sir, I am not against this, but this is wrong.
