You were not asked anything. You were not given a chance to speak and hear. This is the darkest chapter in our history.
At the same time, Denmark PM Frederickson admitted that many women faced mental and physical problems, and some could not become a mother throughout their life.
A woman present at the ceremony said that ‘Frederickson’s apology is good, but we need truth and justice. I was disappointed due to no mention of compensation in this speech.

An investigation report in 2025 confirmed the scam and said that it could be a violation of human rights. Another investigation report related to this case will come in 2026, which will decide whether it is called a genocide or not.
Denmark PM talked about creating a ‘compensation fund’ for the victim women, but it is not clear when and how many women will get it. A group of 143 women have filed a case for compensation of Rs 50 crore.

Greenland received autonomy from Denmark in 1979
Greenland became part of Denmark in 1953 after being a Denmark colony for 150 years. It gained some more autonomy in 1979, under which Greenland was part of Denmark, but it got freedom of matters like education and health with choosing its government. However, by 1992, Denmark handled Greenland’s health system.
57 thousand people live in Greenland, this is the largest island in the world, which has an area of about 21 million sq km. 85% of Greenland is covered with 1.9 miles (3 km) thick ice sheet. It has 10% of the world’s fresh water.
