Smugglers bring these women to China by pretending to be good jobs, better life, or marriage, but there are forcibly sold for marriage or sexual abuse. According to the 2019 Human Rights Watch report, smugglers have been encouraged due to low security personnel on the Myanmar-China border.

Smugglers snatch women’s papers
The smugglers call themselves married agents or jobs. They go to villages and poor areas and implicate girls. After this, they take them to China and sell them. Many men from China who are farmers or laborers are alone and come in contact with these smugglers to get the bride.
These women are sold for $ 5,000 to 20,000. These deals are in the name of ‘marriage’, but they do not have real consent.
After reaching China, the papers of these women are taken away. They are sold for 5 to 20 thousand dollars (4 lakh to 20 lakh rupees). After this, women are sent to a distant village in China.
They are married there. Many times he is raped. They are also under pressure to have forcibly produced children. If these women try to escape, the Chinese police punishes them as illegal migrants.
