Russia is working on a plan to build a nuclear power plant on the moon. This power plant is a part of the partnership between Russia and China under which both these countries are planning to build a base on the moon. With its help, the energy needs of the base to be built on the moon will be met.
Along with Russia and China, India now also wants to join the plan for this plant. Russian news agency TASS has given this information quoting Alexey Likhachev, the head of Russia’s State Nuclear Energy Corporation, Rosatom.
Likhachev said at the Eastern Economic Forum held in the Russian city of Vladivostok that this project is multinational. Our partner countries China and India are also taking interest in this project.

Likhashev described this project as a project based on the spirit of mutual cooperation.
Nuclear by 2035 Plan to build a power plant Earlier in March, Yuri Borisov, CEO of Russian space agency Roscosmos, said that in 2033-35, Russia and China would jointly set up a nuclear power plant on the surface of the Moon.
Borisov had said that to transport the power plant to the surface of the moon, Russia will build a nuclear-powered rocket called Juice. This will be a cargo rocket and will be fully automatic. There will be no need for humans to operate it, humans will only have to focus on launching it.
The aim of this project of Rosatom is to build a small nuclear power plant on the moon. With its help, 0.5 megawatt electricity will be generated. This will help in running the base being built on the moon.

Russia and China announced the construction of the International Lunar Research Station in 2021.
India also wants to send humans to the moon by 2040 India’s space agency ISRO is working on a plan to send humans to the surface of the moon by 2040. According to the Economic Times, if India works with Russia to build a nuclear power plant on the moon, it will also help in its moon mission.
Apart from this, India wants to build its own space station in space by 2035. India is also working on the Gaganyaan mission. Gaganyaan is India’s first human space flight mission under which four astronauts will go to space.
This mission can be launched by 2025. Gaganyaan will have a 3-day mission, under which a team of astronauts will be sent to Earth’s orbit 400 KM above. After this, the crew module will be landed safely in the sea.
If India succeeds in its mission, it will become the fourth country to do so. Before this, America, China and Russia have done this.
