A wooden cross fell on a priest during Saturday’s prayer in the South American country of Ecuador. Due to this the priest got injured on his head and died. Prayer was being broadcast online. The entire incident was recorded on camera.

The heavy wooden cross fell on Father Patricio’s head, crushing him beneath it.

According to the information, the incident took place on October 17 at the Perpetuo Socorro Church in Ecuador’s coastal port city of Guayaquil. Father Patricio Alfredo Sanchez Molinari was preaching here at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church.

Mass was being broadcast online, cross fell after 27 minutes

The mass was being shown live on social media. Watching the video shows that after about 27 minutes, the cross and the statue of Jesus Christ on the wall of the church fall right on top of Father Patricio.

After the incident, the people present in the church reached to help the pastor. Church said that even the emergency medical staff could not save him.

Father Sanchez said in Spanish during the sermon – ‘Todos vamos a morir’ (Todos vamos a morir); The meaning of these words is, ‘One day we all have to die.’ He said that time spent on less important things cannot be as meaningful as time spent with God and loved ones.

That part of Father Patricio’s video, in which he was saying that one day we all have to die.

The reason for the accident is not clear, there is a possibility of the fitting being loose.

On behalf of the church, it was said that the reason for the fall of the big crucifix from the wall of the church has not been known yet, but there is a possibility of a malfunction in the mounting fixture attaching it to the wall. At present the local administration is investigating.
