A wild female elephant was set on fire in Jhargram, West Bengal. It is alleged that the villagers set the elephant on fire. The video of the incident went viral on social media. After this, the anger of social media users is being seen. Some users are claiming that the pregnant elephant can be seen writhing in pain after burning iron nails were thrown at her from a nearby house. At the end of the video, the elephant burns to death on the road.
According to the agency, a senior forest official said, “We have heard about the incident and seen the video. We are investigating the matter.”
Director Tathagata Mukherjee, who made a film ‘Pariah’ on the abuse of street dogs, shared a video on Facebook and said, “A pregnant elephant has been killed by a private hula party (local citizens engaged in the management of wild elephants) in the constituency of the Forest Minister, everyone is silent.”

According to the information, a group of five elephants entered Jhargram last Thursday, which also included a pregnant female elephant. After this incident, a villager died in an elephant attack. After the incident, the local administration and the forest department made efforts to send the elephants back to the forest. After this, the group of elephants left the village and entered Jhargram Raj College. Local villagers complain that members of the Hula Party organized by the Forest Department killed the elephant. The elephant was attacked with a burning iron, due to which the elephant was seriously injured and later died. In the viral video, it can be seen that the elephant falls on the ground in agony.
