गुजरात में बाढ़ जैसे हालात, NDRF तैनात: नागपुर के कॉलेज से 50 स्टूडेंट्स का रेस्क्यू; 9 राज्यों में भारी बारिश का अलर्ट

Heavy rains occurred in Nagpur, Maharashtra during three hours on Friday morning. Water entered many low-lying areas, due to which people were sent to safer places. As a precautionary measure, holidays were declared in schools and colleges. About 50 students were trapped in their college due to floods in Hudkeshwar Nagar of the city, who were rescued.

At the same time, due to heavy rains in Saurashtra, Gujarat on Saturday, villages were cut off and low-lying areas were waterlogged, due to which flood-like situation prevailed in many districts. Relief work has been started here and NDRF teams were deployed.

Dwarka taluka of Devbhoomi Dwarka recorded 163 mm rainfall from 6 am to 6 pm on Saturday, followed by Junagadh at 133 mm and Patan-Veraval in Gir Somnath district at 117 mm.

Karnataka: Due to heavy rains in the landslide-affected Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka, a landslide occurred on July 17. Since then, landslides are occurring continuously in the area. There were complaints of 10 people missing in this landslide, out of which the dead bodies of 7 have been recovered. Rescue operations are underway and the remaining 3 people are also being searched for.

Odisha: A depression formed on Saturday over the coastal area near Odisha’s Chilika Lake. According to the Meteorological Department, it is likely to move northwestwards over Odisha and Chhattisgarh. From June 1 to June 18, the state has received 288.3 mm of rain as against the normal rainfall of 394.1 mm.

Himachal Pradesh: A person was swept away in heavy rains following a cloudburst in Raitua village of Sirmaur district late Friday night. Since June 27, 40 people have died in rain-related incidents in the state. The state meteorological office on Saturday warned that flash floods may occur in some areas of Sirmaur and Shimla in the next 24 hours. An orange alert has been issued for heavy to very heavy rain, thunderstorm and lightning in different areas of the state on July 23.

Uttarakhand: The weather office has issued a red alert for rain in Uttarakhand for Sunday and Monday and said parts of the state are likely to receive extremely heavy rainfall during this period.

Due to continuous rains in East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh, the Godavari river is flowing above its level. Due to this, lakes have overflowed and road connectivity has been cut off.
