About 200 Hamas fighters are trapped in a tunnel near Gaza’s Rafah border and are unable to get out. Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has clearly said that they will not be allowed to leave safely.
According to Israeli officials, these fighters are present in the part of Gaza which is under Israel’s control. They are hiding inside the tunnels but if they try to retreat, they are in danger of being caught by Israeli soldiers (IDF).
Israeli media reports have quoted sources as saying that about 200 Hamas terrorists trapped in the tunnels have been trapped there since March 2025. That means it has been about 7-8 months since they were trapped in the tunnels. Israel has closed the exit tunnels and routes, so that no Hamas fighter can escape.

IDF Chief said – there will be no agreement to expel Hamas fighters
Some Israeli media reports said that if Hamas fighters lay down their weapons, they could be allowed to leave. However, Netanyahu’s office called this claim false and made it clear that no Hamas member would be granted amnesty or allowed to leave safely.
According to Ynet News, IDF Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir told the War Cabinet on Thursday night that no agreement has been reached to evacuate 200 Hamas fighters trapped in the tunnels under Rafah.

Prisoners held in Sade Teiman are interrogated
Sade Teiman is a military base located in Israel’s Negev desert near the border with Gaza and after October 2023 it has been used to hold and interrogate people captured from Gaza. According to some reports, there are thousands of Palestinian prisoners here.
Jamir advised the government not to proceed to the next phase of the ceasefire agreement until all hostages and bodies of martyred soldiers were returned.
He also said that no work should begin in Gaza without completely freeing it from weapons. There was a ceasefire between the two sides on October 10, which had reached the breaking point.

Israeli Security Minister demands – fighters should be killed
This statement came at a time when Israel warned Hamas to retreat to its part of Gaza (Yellow Line). The Israeli Army (IDF) has said that anyone crossing the Yellow Line will be considered an enemy.
The Israeli army currently occupies a large part of Rafah. Israel’s Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir demanded that every Hamas fighters captured crossing the Yellow Line be executed or arrested. He called the release a joke.

Reuters quoted sources as saying that Hamas fighters present in Rafah, who have not been contacted for the last 7-8 months, probably do not even know that the ceasefire has come into force. One of them said that it is necessary to expel those fighters from there to maintain the ceasefire.
Meanwhile, Egypt has proposed an agreement between Israel and Hamas on 6 November. It was said that Hamas fighters should be given a way to escape safely. Instead of killing them, Israel should give them a chance to go to a third country or other part of Gaza.
In exchange for the release of the fighters, Hamas fighters will lay down their arms and give complete information about the tunnels built under Gaza. So that Israel will be able to destroy them. With this deal, Egypt wanted the ceasefire to last, because an increase in fighting in Rafah could lead to war again.
This proposal was in the knowledge of America and Qatar, so that the ongoing ceasefire in Gaza could be saved. Hamas has not given any answer on this till now. Israel has also rejected this proposal. He says that he will not make any compromise with terrorists.
