Doctors protested at Jantar Mantar in Delhi against the Kolkata RG Kar Hospital incident.
On August 21, the West Bengal government took a new action in the Kolkata rape-murder case. Late night, the new principal of the medical college and hospital, Dr. Surhita Pal, medical superintendent Dr. Bulbul Mukhopadhyay and HOD of the chest department Arunabha Dutta were transferred by RG Kar Medical College and Hospital.
The doctors, who have been protesting for the last 11 days regarding the rape-murder case, had demanded the removal of all these officers. The government has appointed Manas Kumar Bandyopadhyay as the new principal. Apart from this, the state government has also cancelled the order of transfer of former principal Dr. Sandeep Ghosh to Calcutta National Medical College and Hospital.
Meanwhile, CBI will present the status report of the trainee doctor’s rape-murder case in the Supreme Court on Thursday (August 22). It will tell the court what information has been obtained so far in the 9-day investigation. The Calcutta High Court handed over this case to CBI on August 13.
Here, former Deputy Superintendent of Medical College Akhtar Ali has demanded ED investigation against former Principal Sandeep Ghosh from the High Court. He alleges that many financial irregularities took place during Ghosh’s tenure. The state government will file an affidavit in the Supreme Court today in this matter. Meanwhile, after the order of the Union Home Ministry, the security of the college was handed over to CISF. More than 150 soldiers are deployed for the security of the hospital.

- Targeting first year female students and female hospital staff and having physical relations with them.

- Making students pass in exams by taking money, sitting with students and drinking alcohol.
- Handing over unclaimed dead bodies to private hospitals and tampering with dead bodies.

CBI officers on Wednesday inspected the SUV car (WB 02 AU 9747) of former principal of RG Kar Medical College Sandeep Ghosh.
3 officers including 2 Assistant Police Commissioners
In the afternoon, the government suspended 3 officers including 2 Assistant Police Commissioners. On 15 August, late at night, a crowd of thousands vandalised the RG Kar Medical College Hospital. This action was taken in the same case.
The Governor met the victim’s family and became emotional
West Bengal Governor CV Anand Bose met the parents of the trainee doctor on August 21. He too became emotional after seeing the grieving family. Bose said, ‘I have heard both the parents. I will write a letter to the Chief Minister in a sealed envelope. They have told me some things, which are confidential right now.’
Next hearing in Calcutta High Court on September 4
The rape-murder case was heard in the Calcutta High Court on August 21. The petitioner’s lawyer said that the state government has formed an SIT to investigate former principal Sandeep Ghosh. This is a sham to save him. However, the court said, we will now hear this case on September 4.
On the other hand, the Bengal government said that it will present the report related to the case in the court. On this, High Court Chief Justice TS Sivagnanam said, the matter is now in the Supreme Court. Keep the report with you and show it to the Supreme Court.
The last hearing in the High Court was held on 16 August. Then Chief Justice TS Sivagnanam reprimanded the state government and the police and said that a crowd of 7 thousand people had come to vandalize the hospital. What was the police doing? If the police is not able to protect itself, then how will the doctors work fearlessly.
Security of medical college handed over to CISF
Following the Supreme Court’s order, CISF took over the security of RG Kar Medical College. CISF officials visited the hospital on Wednesday and took stock of the security arrangements. The court had directed CISF to take over the security after vandalism in the hospital.
On the other hand, former Deputy Superintendent of the hospital Akhtar Ali has filed a petition in the Calcutta High Court against former Principal Sandeep Ghosh. Ali has accused Ghosh of financial irregularities during his tenure and has demanded an investigation by the ED. The state government will file an affidavit in the Supreme Court tomorrow in this matter.
Accused Sanjay Roy will undergo lie detector test

Sanjay Roy, accused of raping and murdering a trainee doctor, will undergo a lie detector test. The Kolkata court has given permission to the CBI for this. Sanjay has been in police custody since August 10.
The accused exploited the doctor badly
New information has come to light in the rape-murder case of a trainee doctor in a hospital. The postmortem report has revealed that the victim was strangled to death. The police had handed over the postmortem report to the trainee doctor’s family on August 12, which stated that the trainee doctor was strangled to death after being raped and assaulted on the night of August 8-9.
The incident is estimated to have taken place between 3 and 5 am on August 9. The four-page postmortem report stated that the accused had brutally assaulted the doctor.

The Supreme Court said- we cannot wait for another rape
In the Kolkata rape-murder case, a bench of Chief Justice (CJI) DY Chandrachud, Justice JB Pardiwala and Justice Manoj Mishra heard the case on August 20. The CJI said – We cannot wait for another rape to improve the system.
A task force is being formed to improve the security of doctors. It includes 9 doctors who will recommend measures for the safety, working conditions and welfare of medical professionals. Five officers of the central government have also been included in the task force. Read full news…
