On Saturday, nurses protested in Kolkata demanding justice in the rape and murder case of a trainee doctor.

The dead body of a post-graduate trainee female doctor was found in a government hospital (RG Kar Medical College) in Kolkata on Friday. Initial investigation has revealed that the trainee doctor was raped and then murdered.

According to the 4-page autopsy report, the woman was bleeding from her eyes, mouth and private parts. She also had injuries on her stomach, left leg, neck, right hand, ring finger and lips.

According to Kolkata Police, this is not a case of suicide. The murder took place after rape. The neck bone of the trainee doctor was also found broken. It seems that she was strangulated to death.

Kolkata Police has registered a murder case and formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the matter. Police has also arrested a man named Sanjay on the basis of suspicious activities.

After the incident, medical students, BJP, Congress and Left parties protested outside the hospital demanding action. Meanwhile, West Bengal BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari has demanded a CBI inquiry into the matter.

The trainee doctor was a PG student of Chest Medicine Department. She was on duty on Thursday night (8 August). The father alleges that his daughter was raped and then murdered at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. Now efforts are being made to hide the truth.

RG Kar Medical College Principal Dr. Sandin Ghosh said – Only after the postmortem report will we know what happened to the woman. We are taking all necessary steps for investigation. Meanwhile, Medical College Director Dr. Kaustav Nayak said that it is not a natural death. The detailed report will come within 1-2 days.

The police officer said that the body of the trainee doctor was recovered by his colleagues from the seminar hall of the emergency building. We are talking to doctors, nurses and others who were on duty that night.

Amit Malviya accused Mamata government of suppressing the matter
