Former CM of Kerala VS Achuthanandan passes away: Former Kerala Chief Minister VS. Achuthanandan died today (Monday) in a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram. He was 101 years old. He served as the Chief Minister of Kerala from 2006 to 2011.
Achuthanandan, popularly known as ‘VS’, was one of the 32 founders of the 32 founders who broke away from the Communist Party of India (CPI) in 1964, Marxist Communist Party (CPI-M). Shashi Tharoor expressed grief over his death
Former Chief Minister VS. Shashi Tharoor, while condising on the death of Achuthanandan, described him as a ‘great communist leader’ and ‘dear people of the people’. He said that Achuthanandan’s life was an inspirational journey to get up from a simple background to become a public leader.
