Deepika Padukone’s name has been removed from the end credits of the film ‘Kalki 2898 Ad’, which is releasing on an OTT platform. There is anger among his fans on this matter because removing his name is like not respecting his work.
The makers of the film had officially told in September 2025 that Deepika will not be a part of the sequel of ‘Kalki’. After this the news came that even after the OTT release, his name has been removed from the end credits.

Fans say that the credits are not just names but a symbol of respect and responsibility and Deepika has played an important role in the film, so it is unfair to remove her name.
However, his name still appears in some versions of the film on Netflix and Prime Video, which could lead to the controversy being a case of glitch or deliberate name removal. This issue was much discussed on social media and the producers were criticized a lot.

Before this controversy, in September 2024, the makers had officially announced that Deepika would not be a part of the sequel of this film. The producers said that the partnership did not work out after long talks and they wish Deepika all the best for her future.
According to reports, Deepika had demanded 25% increase in fees and 8-hour work shift which was rejected by the makers. He was thrown out when negotiations failed.

Recently, in an interview given to CNBC-TV18, Deepika openly talked about pay equality and better working conditions in the industry without taking the name of the film Kalki. She said, “I have always fought my battles peacefully and with dignity. I have always stood silently for what is right.”
Fans are now demanding the makers to add Deepika’s name back to the credits of the OTT version, as it is not just a name but an honor to the artist.
