The case was revealed when the first victim complained to Santa Rosa Police Department (SRPD) in late February 2025. The investigation was then handed over to the domestic violence sexual abuse team (DVSA).

First friendship trap, then calling in car exploited
In the first complaint lodged in February 2025, a woman told the police that in June 2024, the accused made an excuse for a conversation and then called her in her Kali Toyota Highlander car and forcibly raped her.
Domestic violence was immediately assigned to the sexual abuse team (DVSA) as the matter was serious. Investigation revealed that the name of the accused is Shammi and his legal name is also the same. However, he also used the names of Sham, Shammi and Verma in America.
Second case surfaced in January 2025
During the investigation, it was also revealed that the Ronert Park Police Department (RPDPS) was also investigating another case related to the accused. In January 2025, Shammi called another woman in her car and forcibly sexually abused her.
After this revelation, the two departments together started preparations to arrest the accused. Finally, on 24 April 2025, the accused was arrested and he was booked on charges of serious offenses in the Sonoma County Main Adult Detention Facility.
Court accepted the threat to society
In SRPD case number 25-2209, the accused were accused of 261 (a) (2) PC-forcible rape and 289 (a) (1) PC-forced unnatural sex. At the same time, in RPDPS case number 25-0276, the accused was accused of attacking 220 (a) (1) PC-rape.
The court had demanded to increase the bail of the accused. But the court admitted that there is a threat to the accused women and the whole society. Therefore, the judge of the Sonoma County Superior Court ordered him to be kept in custody without bail.

In the US, accused Santa used to work at Rosa’s Consumption-Allevan Store in California. Meanwhile, local women used to come to shop there. The accused would talk to them, Hi-Hello and increase acquaintance.
Gradually, this acquaintance would turn into friendship and then the accused would call them in his car and make them hunted. Police investigation revealed that he also chased the women coming to the store and reached home.
