Paramjit Kaur, a resident of Kapurthala, said in a statement to the police that his son Luvjit Singh was married to Harmanpreet Kaur on 23 January 2020. His family spent the entire wedding. After marriage, daughter -in -law Harmanpreet Kaur was sent abroad for study after spending 28 lakh rupees. This included college fees and expenses. Some rupees were given cash at the time of going abroad.

Paramjit Kaur said that the son bride kept contact with his son until he had received a work permit after going abroad. Because all the expenses of his studies and living were sent by him. When she received the work permit, the daughter -in -law called her son Luvjeet and said that she would neither call her nor have any relationship. After this, his son started getting upset mentally.
Paramjit Kaur said that on the evening of August 30, his son Luvajit Singh consumed something poisonous, after which he died. He told that his son has committed suicide by being fed up with wife Harmanpreet Kaur, father -in -law Baldeep Singh and mother -in -law Surjit Kaur.
The Begowal police have started further proceedings by registering an FIR against the three accused on the statement of the mother of the deceased. ASI Arvinderjit Singh said that no accused has been arrested yet.
