Ola Electric’s annual event ‘Sankalp 2024’ has started today (August 15) at the Futurefactory in Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu. The electric two-wheeler manufacturing company will launch its first electric bike at the event. The bike will join the company’s existing lineup in the Indian market, Ola S1X, S1 Air and S1 Pro. Apart from this, the company will also introduce new AI features.
The company had said in the 2024-25 quarter results that it would introduce the electric bike in two segments, base and premium variants. When launched, this electric bike will compete with the Torque Kratos R and Revolt RV400 in the Indian market. At the same time, in the premium segment, the high-performance EV will compete with the Ultraviolet F77 and Matter Aria.
Expected Features of Ola Electric Bike
According to the teaser shared on social media platform X, the front of the Ola electric bike will have dual-pod LED headlamps like the electric scooter. It has a horizontal LED strip at the top and two vertical strips on the sides. It is expected that these vertical strips will work as turn indicators.
The images on social media suggest that it will have conventional right-side-up telescopic fork suspension. In-development snapshots shared by company founder Bhavish Aggarwal in recent weeks also indicate the inclusion of a chain final drive and a large battery surrounded by a tubular frame.
Ola had given a glimpse of its 5 electric bikes last year.
