India has won a medal in the men’s marathon event of the Asian Games after 44 years. Sawan Barwal got silver with a timing of 2 hours 11 minutes 37 seconds. India had got bronze in this event in the 1982 Delhi Asian Games. With Barwal’s silver, India’s medal count has reached 24. This includes 2 gold, 10 silver and 12 bronze. India is at 12th place in the medal tally.
