The US Department of Justice on Friday night released three lakh documents related to the Jeffrey Epstein sex scandal, in which pictures of stalwarts like former US President Bill Clinton, pop singer Michael Jackson, Hollywood actor Chris Tucker were revealed.
Before the release, there were discussions about names of many Indians appearing in the Epstein files. Former Union Minister Subramanian Swamy and former Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan had also said that the names of many Indian tycoons would emerge in the Epstein files, but the revelations so far have not indicated any Indian visiting Epstein Island or meeting Epstein.
According to the report of American news website ‘Wired’, ‘Near Intelligence’, a data tracking company associated with the US Defense Ministry, has collected data from 2016 to 2019. In this, mobile phone data of 200 people who went to Epstein’s Little Saint James Island was tracked.
Tracker data shows that not a single Indian went to Epstein Island in these 4 years. Near Intelligence gathered complete information about these 200 people. For example, where did they come from, where in the island did they spend the most time and where did they go back?
Important facts of Near Intelligence data
- Even after Epstein was accused of sexual assault in 2008, the flow of guests to his island did not decrease. Most of the visitors to the island were of American origin, coming from states such as Florida, Massachusetts, Texas, Michigan and New York.
- Guests spent most of their time on the island in two places. First- on Epstein’s main mansion, second- on the ‘Temple Site’ built on the hilltop. This is the same temple site where Epstein has been accused of sexually assaulting minor girls.
- After returning from the island, Epstein’s guests visited places like Martha’s Vineyard, a Miami nightclub, which is counted among America’s most expensive clubs. Due to this, it is being said that the guests are rich.
- The report also found a location near Trump Tower, while Trump claimed that he did not meet Jeffrey after the case was filed in 2008. Apart from America, Epstein Island also had visitors from Australia, British Cayman Islands and Ukraine’s capital Kiev.
- According to the report, in these 4 years no one from India reached the island nor did anyone return from the island to India.
Did no one from European countries go to Epstein Island?
Not a single data point from Europe was found in the mobile phone data analyzed in the report, while pictures of British Prince Andrew were also seen in the pictures released late on September 19.
Apart from this, it has also been revealed in the statements of the victims and court documents that Jean-Luc Brunel, who runs a modeling agency in Paris, the capital of European country France, had visited Epstein Island several times.
In fact, the reason why not a single data point from Europe has been revealed is the strict privacy protection laws of Europe, due to which it is difficult to track the personal data of European users.
What does the report say on the connection between India and Epstein Island?
Indian data protection laws are not so strict. Near Intelligence had claimed that it has data of 16 crore people from 44 countries, which also includes data of users in cities like Bengaluru.
That means, with the help of its servers, NI can obtain data of users of any city in India. However, according to NI data, no person from any Asian country including India visited Epstein Island between 2016 and 2019.
