‘एक अपराधी की मनगढ़ंत बातें…’, विदेश मंत्रालय ने एपस्टीन फाइल में PM मोदी के जिक्र को किया खारिज

India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Saturday rejected an email in the Jeffrey Epstein files mentioning Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his 2017 visit to Israel. The ministry said in a statement, ‘We have seen reports regarding an e-mail related to the Epstein files, in which there is mention of the Prime Minister’s visit to Israel. The Prime Minister’s visit to Israel in July 2017 is official and true. Anything else stated in the e-mail is nonsense and baseless speculations of a convict, which should be rejected with complete contempt.

External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal clarified that such mentions have no connection with any kind of reality or fact. This reaction of the Ministry of External Affairs comes after the new documents of Epstein files released in America, which allegedly mention PM Modi’s visit to Israel. By making this an issue, Congress tried to corner PM Modi in a post on social media.

Congress media department chief Pawan Khera, in a post on Narendra Modi took his advice and danced and sang for the US President’s benefit in Israel. They met a few weeks ago, which worked out. This closeness of the Prime Minister of India to this infamous person raises serious questions on his decision-making ability, transparency and diplomatic etiquette.

US Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanch said that the new documents related to the Epstein files are the final step in all the disclosures decided during the administration of former President Donald Trump, which were to be made public under the law. According to Todd Blanch, this new collection of documents includes more than 3 million pages, approximately 2,000 videos and approximately 1,80,000 photographs. He said that these documents have been released under a bipartisan law passed by the US Congress, which provides for making public all non-confidential records related to Epstein.

However, many documents related to the Epstein files have been heavily redacted. Blanche said that this has been done to protect the identity of the victims and to avoid affecting the ongoing investigation. For example, in an 82-page document, all but one page has been blackened. Jeffrey Epstein was an American financier who later became the main accused in one of the world’s most notorious sex trafficking cases. He was facing serious allegations of sexual exploitation of minor girls, trafficking and making them available to influential people.

Epstein owned luxurious homes in the US, the Caribbean and Europe and was said to have connections to many powerful politicians, industrialists and royal figures. In 2019, he died under suspicious circumstances in a New York prison, which was officially declared a suicide. Ghislaine Maxwell is the daughter of British socialite and media businessman Robert Maxwell. She is considered a close associate of Epstein. In 2021, he was convicted of sex trafficking and facilitating the sexual exploitation of minors, after which he was sentenced to a long prison sentence.
