Satish Shah was born on 25 June 1951 in a Gujarati family.
Actor Satish Shah died at Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai at around 2:30 pm on Saturday afternoon. He was 74 years old. His manager told that Shah’s body has been kept in the hospital. The last rites will be performed on Sunday.
He was suffering from kidney related problems for a long time and recently he had a kidney transplant.
Satish Shah became famous with TV shows Sarabhai vs Sarabhai and Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro. He worked in many famous films like Main Hoon Na (2004), Kal Ho Na Ho (2003), Fanaa (2006) and Om Shanti Om (2007).
In the year 2008, he worked as a judge in the show Comedy Circus with Archana Puran Singh.

In the year 2015, Satish Shah was also made a member of the Society of Film and Television Institute of India (FTII).
Satish Shah was born in Mandvi, Gujarat. After studying from Xavier College, he studied at the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune. In 1972, Satish married designer Madhu Shah.
Satish started his career in the year 1970 with the Bollywood film Lord Parshuram. From then till 2014, he worked in many films.
At the same time, he made his debut on TV in the year 1984 through the sitcom show ‘Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi Se’. He played 55 different characters in 55 episodes of this show.
After that he was a part of shows like Filmy Chakkar, Ghar Jamai, Top 10, Sarabhai vs Sarabhai and Comedy Circus.
Johnny Lever expressed grief over the demise of Satish Shah
Comedian Johnny Lever expressed grief over the demise of Satish Shah, saying that he was a very close friend of his. Johnny said that their friendship was about 40 years old.
Johnny told, “We were always connected like a family. We talked daily. We kept visiting each other at home too. We did a lot of work together and were always each other’s support.”
He further said, “He passed away suddenly today. I was going to talk to him tomorrow also. It is very difficult to believe that he is no more with us. I and the entire industry will miss him a lot.”
Describing his illness, Johnny said, “Satish ji was suffering from kidney disease. He had undergone transplant in Kolkata. After staying there for one and a half month, he came back completely recovered. Suddenly today, after eating food, he collapsed and died.”
Johnny told that the people who were with him immediately took care of him in the hospital. Johnny had already informed the industry and friends.
Johnny Lever concluded, “Satish Shah’s departure is a huge loss for us. We will always miss him and miss him. His smiling face and work will always be with us.”
Meanwhile, filmmaker Vivek Sharma got emotional on the demise of Satish Shah and said that he was like his guru and elder brother.
He told, “Till this morning I was chatting with him. We used to talk every day, send reels and interesting videos to each other.”
Vivek said, “Today around 1.30 pm, he collapsed on the table while eating. He was immediately taken to Hinduja Hospital, but the doctors there told him that he had passed away.”
He told that along with Satish Shah, he had an old associate Ramesh, who had been working with him for many years. He took him to the hospital.
Expressing grief, Vivek said that the mental condition of Satish Shah’s wife is also not good. She doesn’t even know that her husband is no more in this world.
Vivek Sharma further said, “Satish ji was suffering from kidney failure and was undergoing dialysis for about one and a half years. Some time ago, he had gone to Kolkata for kidney transplant. He was treated there for one and a half months and returned completely recovered.”
He said, “He was very happy, told me that we will start work from November. He sent me a selfie of himself and said – Look, I have lost 20-22 kg of weight, how handsome I am looking now.”
