Captain Ashish Kumar of Bettiah is missing in the Israel-Iran war. The agency called the captain’s wife and informed her about the incident. There was a missile attack on the oil tanker ‘Skylight’ in the Gulf of Oman on March 1. The ship was at anchor off the Khasab coast at the time of the attack. Most of the crew members were evacuated safely, but two others including Captain Ashish are still missing. The family members have contacted the Indian Embassy in Oman and the shipping company, but no clear information has been received yet. The family has demanded the intervention of the Central Government to ensure early search and safe return. Wife said – The last conversation took place on February 28. Ashish’s wife said, ‘The agency officials have the numbers of the family members of the people working there. I am Ashish’s wife, so he had our number. On March 2, we got a call from the agency. He told us, Ashish’s ship has been attacked. He is still reported missing. He joined on 22 January. It had been working for only a month. We used to talk every Saturday. We last spoke on the night of 28th February. Captain is missing, even the company is not telling anything. Ashish Kumar’s younger brother Akash Kumar said, ‘As soon as we got information about the attack, we sent an email to the Embassy of India, Muscat. On March 2, the shipping company’s agent Sumit called and informed that there was an attack, most of the crew has been rescued, but our brother Ashish and two other members are still missing. The brother alleged that the true situation was not being disclosed by the company. Nor is any concrete information being shared regarding the missing members.
