The memories of Bollywood’s powerful actor Irrfan Khan are still fresh in the hearts of fans. An incident has come to light during the shooting of his last film ‘Angrezi Medium’, which forces us to salute his professional commitment. Costume designer Smriti Chauhan revealed that Irrfan was suffering from cancer, yet endured extreme pain during the shooting.

Smriti Chauhan told Digital Commentary, “Irrfan Sahab’s health was continuously deteriorating. The shooting would often stop because his body was responding. The pain was so much that his face would turn pale, but he would never complain. He would complete the scene by saying ‘Just one more take’.” The entire unit became emotional after seeing Irrfan’s hard work while working with the film’s director Homi Adajania. Smriti said, “There was passion in his eyes. Despite being weak, his dialogue delivery was perfect.”

‘Angrezi Medium’ was released in 2019, in which Irrfan played the role of a father, who shows his struggle to fulfill his daughter’s dreams. Irrfan died after the success of the film, but his film became immortal for the fans. Smriti recalled, “By the last days of shooting, he had become so weak that he would come in a wheelchair, but would turn into a magician as soon as the cameras were on.”
