The Supreme Court of Pakistan has scheduled a hearing on August 18 on the petitions demanding to meet jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan and send him to the hospital for treatment.
A bench of three judges will hear the case. It includes Justice Shahid Wahid, Justice Naeem Afghan and Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim. The court registrar’s office has issued notices to all concerned parties and their lawyers.
Imran Khan is in jail since August 2023. Many cases are pending against him ranging from corruption to terrorism. Since the fall of his government through a no-confidence motion in 2022, his political party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has been continuously demanding his release and meeting.

Imran appeared before the Supreme Court through video conferencing in May 2024. It was then that he was seen for the last time.
Pakistani journalist had claimed Imran’s death
Pakistani journalist Wajahat Saeed Khan living in America had released a video expressing the fear of Imran’s death.
Wajahat said that the possibility of Imran’s death was an assessment based on information from army officers. Imran is lodged in Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail since August 2023.
After the Pakistani journalist’s claim, Imran’s sisters also raised questions that they were not being allowed to meet their brother.
Imran’s party said- will take to the streets
Imran Khan’s party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has said that more than 20 lakh people are ready to take to the streets if they are not allowed to meet him. The party has announced a long march till Islamabad on 27 September.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi said that PTI’s central and provincial leadership and its allies are together on this decision.
He said that the aim of the march is not only to secure the release of Imran Khan but also to ensure access to the party founder and his meeting.

Sisters met Imran in November 2025
Imran Khan’s sister Uzma Khan visited him in Adiala jail in November 2025. After coming out of jail, Uzma had told that brother Imran is completely fine. The meeting between the two lasted for about 20 minutes.
He had said- Imran Khan’s health is absolutely fine, but he is very angry. They are being mentally tortured and Asim Munir is responsible for all this. They have no access to the outside world.

Imran was last seen in May 2024
Imran Khan last appeared in the Supreme Court of Pakistan through video conferencing on 16 May 2024. During this, he alleged that 5 days before the general elections, I was convicted in different cases, so that I could stay away from the elections.
Imran also gave the example of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. He said- Kejriwal was also given bail to campaign during elections in India.
