Security has been beefed up across Islamabad’s Shifa International Hospital.
Preparations have begun to take former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan from Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail to Shifa International Hospital in Islamabad for treatment. He can be shifted to the hospital within some time under tight security.
This step is being taken after the order of the Supreme Court of Pakistan. The Supreme Court had said on Tuesday that Imran should be transferred to Shifa International Hospital within 48 hours.
His family and lawyers had expressed concern about his health and demanded that he be shifted to a private hospital for treatment by doctors of their choice.
Security personnel have removed the media personnel posted outside Shifa Hospital. Imran Khan may be brought to the hospital tonight.

Imran Khan has not been taken to Shifa International Hospital even after the order of the Supreme Court. After the Supreme Court’s deadline passed, Imran Khan’s lawyer Khalid Yusuf Chaudhary said that he was present outside Adiala jail, but he was not allowed to meet Imran.
According to Chaudhary, he had to get his signature on the contempt petition and power of attorney from Imran Khan. But the jail administration did not allow them to meet.
The lawyer alleged that the purpose of stopping him from meeting Imran was to stop him from filing a contempt petition in the Supreme Court regarding his treatment.
“We will still file a contempt petition in the Supreme Court,” he said.

Despite the order of the Supreme Court, the protest against not shifting Imran Khan to the hospital within 2 days has intensified.
Imran’s supporting organization Tehreek-e-Tahaffuz-e-Ain-e-Pakistan has threatened to protest in the entire Punjab province if the government does not implement the Supreme Court order. He also announced Punjab Bandh movement.
Imran appeared before the Supreme Court through video conferencing in May 2024.

Medical board will be formed for Imran’s treatment
The Supreme Court has ordered to form a medical board to examine the health of Imran Khan. The court has also asked to include Imran’s sister Dr. Uzma Khan and her personal doctor in the medical board. There will be many specialist doctors in the medical board. Together they will thoroughly examine Imran and will also look at old medical reports.
After this, the doctor will find out what is the problem, why the blood clot is forming and whether there is any further danger. After the investigation, the board will tell what treatment Imran needs and whether his treatment can be done in jail or whether it is necessary to be admitted to the hospital.
