In fact, Pazshkian had won the presidential election by defeating Saeed Jalili. Jalili had the support of the IRGC. The final decision on how to attack Israel will be taken will be taken by Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Hamas’s political chief Haniyeh, who had come to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Iran’s President Pazshkian on 30 July, died. He was staying in the guest house of IRGC itself.
