Even after losing 2 Tests to Sri Lanka, England remains fourth in the World Test Championship (WTC) points table. The team won 8 out of 15 Tests and lost only 6. One match was drawn, England’s 19 points have been deducted so far due to slow over rate, due to which the team has 81 points.

England played 15 matches, which means that the team could have reached 180 points based on 12 points for a win. But they have only 81 points. According to this, the team is at the fourth position with 45% points. New Zealand is at the third, Australia at the second and India at the first position.

In the third session of the fourth day, Sri Lanka resumed play from the score of 260/7. England took the second new ball of the innings. Gus Atkinson did his job and got Sri Lankan captain Dhananjay de Silva caught out. De Silva scored 50 runs.
