Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma had said on Saturday that if Congress demands, we will ban beef in the state.

Assam government has banned beef. CM Himanta Biswa Sarma gave this information on social media platform X on Thursday. CM said that this decision was taken in the cabinet meeting. Now it will not be served in hotels, restaurants and public places in the state.

Announcing this, Water Resources Minister Piyush Hazarika said – Congress should welcome this decision or go to Pakistan.

Actually, voting for the by-election on Samaguri seat was held on 13 November. After the results were declared on November 23, MP Rakibul Hussain had accused BJP of distributing beef on Congress’s defeat.

In response, CM Himanta Biswa Sarma told the media after the BJP meeting on Saturday that he is ready to ban beef in the state, provided Congress gives it in writing.

Sarma had asked- Can Samguri seat be won by giving beef? Sarma had said, I want to know whether Congress was winning the election by beefing up the voters. He knows the material very well. Does this mean that Samaguri can be won by giving beef? This year, Hussain has become MP by winning from Dhubri Lok Sabha seat by a record margin of more than 10.12 lakh votes. Before this, he had been MLA from Samguri for five consecutive terms.

Sarma said, I want to tell Rakibul Hussain that beef should be banned because he himself has said that it is wrong. They just need to be given to me in writing. BJP and Congress should not speak about beef. BJP, AGP, CPM will not be able to offer anything and Hindus, Muslims and Christians all should stop eating beef.

What does Assam Cattle Preservation Act 2021 say? Consumption of beef is not illegal in Assam, but the Assam Cattle Preservation Act 2021 bans cattle slaughter and sale of beef in areas where Hindus, Jains and Sikhs are in majority and within five kilometers of any temple or satra (Vaishnav monastery). Are in.
