अमेरिका-ईरान के हमले में गुजरात का जहाज डूबा:  एक भारतीय की मौत, 17 क्रू मेंबर्स को बचाया; दुबई से यमन जा रहा था




A cargo ship from Gujarat sank in the firing between Iran and America’s Navy in the Strait of Hormuz last night. This ship belonged to Salaya in Dwarka district of Gujarat. In the accident, an Indian crew member named Altaf Talab Ker, working in the engine room of the ship, died, while the remaining 17 crew were saved. Adam Bhai, General Secretary of the Indian Selling Vessels Association, gave this information while talking to Bhaskar. Adam Bhai has also sent an email to the Indian Embassy in Dubai asking for help. The cargo ship MSV AL FAIZE NOORE SULEMANI-I was carrying general cargo from Dubai to Mukalla port in Yemen. There were a total of 18 crew on board the ship, including a gunman. According to Adam Bhai, the ship was passing through the Strait of Hormuz at around one o’clock in the morning on 7th May. Meanwhile, face-to-face firing started between Iran and the American Navy. This Gujarat ship also got hit in the cross firing. A ship passing nearby pulled the crew out safely. After the ship sank, the crew started trying to save themselves. At the same time, another ship passing nearby, MSV Prem Sagar-I, helped. The ship evacuated 17 crew safely. The firing caused heavy damage to the ship and it started filling with water. Due to this the ship started sinking. Meanwhile, Altaf Talab Kerr, who was present in the engine room, was seriously injured. He died on the spot. All the rescued crew safely reached Dubai Port late in the evening of 8 May. Adam Bhai has also given the video of this crew to Bhaskar. As soon as the news of the incident reached Salaya, mourning spread in the area and the fishermen community. Indian Selling Vessels Association has made several demands from the Indian Embassy. The association has said that the last rites of the body of deceased Altaf Talab Ker should be completed. Help should be provided in obtaining documents related to the dead body, death certificate and postmortem report. Also, after ensuring the safety of the 17 crew that reached Dubai, arrangements should be made to bring them back to India. The association has also sought to increase the security of Indian ships in international waters. At present the Indian Embassy is active in this matter and the process of bringing the crew back to India has been started.
