Demand to stop hate speech against Sikh community
A memorandum was also submitted to the Chief Justice on behalf of Advocate Dhami, head of the Gurdwara Management Committee. The memorandum said that an uncontrolled and organized hate campaign and propaganda against the minority Sikh community on various social media platforms is becoming a very important issue. Which is not being stopped properly by the Government of India and the concerned state governments.
Being the constitutional and representative organization of the Sikh community, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has from time to time passed several resolutions to take strict action against hate propaganda promoting enmity between different communities and sent them to the Government of India, but despite this they have not been resolved properly. The Supreme Court is very strict against such communal and hateful expressions on social media platforms. Urge to intervene in this serious matter.
