Ameesha Patel was born on 9 June 1975 to wealthy Gujarat businessman Amit Patel and Punjabi NRI mother Asha. She was named Ameesha by combining the names of her mother and father. At the age of 5, she got trained in Bharatnatyam. His grandfather Rajni Patel was a famous barrister and a prominent Congress politician.
