Adhik Maas is going on which is also called Purushottam Maas. In such a situation, traditional Holi festival was organized in Barsana and Nandgaon of Brajbhoomi, in which a large number of devotees participated. During the entire event, the devotees present in the temple premises were seen immersed in colors, gulal and devotion to Radha-Krishna. People danced vigorously with drums and sang hymns of God.
In this special event, people of Goswami community of Nandgaon and Barsana participated in the traditional dance of Braj. Holi And did collective singing of Rasiya verses. As soon as Holi singing started in the temple, the whole atmosphere became devotional. Devotees were seen dancing to the tune of ‘Rangan Rangeelo Ras Bharo’ and other traditional Braj songs. Cheers continued to echo in the temple premises and bhajans and kirtans continued.
Devotees from India and abroad
During the Holi festival, Abeer, Gulal and colors were showered heavily on the devotees. Along with this, the shower of flowers made the atmosphere more divine. Amidst the scorching heat, suddenly the temple complex decorated with colors and flowers was giving the devotees the experience of the traditional Holi of Braj. Many devotees from India and abroad were seen capturing this scene in their mobile cameras.
In this event which lasted for about two hours, the temple complex was completely filled with devotees. Devotees appeared engrossed in devotion with chants of ‘Shri Krishna Kanhaiya Lal Ki Jai’. Traditional Holi songs and Rasiya presented by Goswami Samaj served to connect people with the ancient cultural heritage of Braj.
According to the saints and devotees of Braj region, devotion to Radha-Krishna in Purushottam month and participating in religious festivals is considered especially virtuous. This is the reason why a large number of devotees are reaching Barsana, Nandgaon, Vrindavan and Govardhan during Adhik Maas. This Holi festival organized at the Krishna-Balram temple of Nandgaon also remained a major center of attraction for the devotees.
